WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY : THE RED BARN, NORFOLK
Norfolk wedding photography, The Red Barn, Norfolk. This was my first wedding at The Red Barn, South Runcton. Found between Kings Lynn and Downham Market and is a 16th century barn and steeped in history. The medieval barn is stunningly beautiful not only from the outside but also the oak timbers inside make for a unique setting for your wedding. The barn is very well appointed, even with underfloor heating for the chilly climes! Outside there is plenty of space to entertain your guests. Fiona and Nick’s wedding made full use of the venue and its outside space and made for such a beautiful and most happy occasion.
Bridal Preparation
Bridal prep took place at the beautiful family home. As with most bridal preps the house was busy with hair and makeup for bride, bridesmaids, MOB and flower girls. Time certainly passes quickly during a wedding day and especially during the prep. Timing is not always on our side and on occasions time slips by so always build in time for any delays. As a wedding photographer I aim to get to the wedding venue some 45 to 60 minutes before the wedding ceremony.
The wedding ceremony
The wedding ceremony and reception for Fiona and Nick’s wedding was held at The Red Barn. What a super choice they made. Often with barn weddings natural light can be an issue but with The Red Barn the cavernous interior gave me no such issues. In fact the oak timber interior made for some gorgeous images that show The Red Barn at its finest!
The Couple Shots
I adore taking the wedding couple away for some couple shots. Most likely the first time that the bride and groom were alone since saying “I do “. When it comes to couple shots I do like to make the very best use of the surroundings. The Red Barn has the surrounding countryside and the backdrop of a working farm. The perfect combination and we made the best of all.
Wedding Breakfast & Party Time
Again, nothing but praise for this venue. The barn is an awesome venue for your wedding day. Wedding ceremony, wedding breakfast and wedding party, all catered for under one roof (a big red one). You have space and atmosphere. The chance to make the venue your own with your own ideas. As a wedding photographer for the past 11 years I can certainly endorse this venue.
