As a Suffolk wedding photographer it is always a bonus to be photographing a wedding close to home. Especially when the days celebrations were to take place in Walberswick which holds many childhood memories.

The wedding ceremony held at St. Andrews church and the wedding breakfast at The Anchor in Walberswick. It was a  September wedding and the weather was unpredictable all the day long for Jo and Piers. All day long the dark clouds threatened with torrential rain storms and it lived up to exactly that. Fortunately it did not dampen the day (pun intended) despite a drinks reception planned in the ruins adjacent to the church. We were lucky, the heavens opened just as the couple started the confetti run and stopped as quickly as it started. Again the rain returned towards the end of the drinks reception but a well planned wedding as it was there were ample umbrellas to hand to save many a hat and luscious wedding shoes.

Cloud is often the photographers friend at a wedding and for me I prefer cloudy days instead of the harsh sunshine that creates so many squints and harsh shadows.

After the drinks reception is was onto the wedding reception held in the grounds of The Anchor pub. The marquee and the dressing of it was so beautiful. Jenny Loyd of Inspired Event Management worked her magic to make this a very special wedding where not only visually was it perfect but making sure everything ran on time and everything seamless. Frances Boscawen of  Moat Farm Flowers, were the light behind the beautiful floral arrangements. The catering at The Anchor was sublime, run by Sophie Dorber. A sumptuous wedding breakfast and catering throughout was again faultless, another reason for making a date to go back to the pub! Huge thanks go out to these suppliers for making my day that little bit easier and their co operation. Victoria Bradfield was the MUA for the wedding and as always she kept a cool head and steady hand throughout the morning.
