Port Lympne Hotel is a venue that I knew well. I lived close by in my Kent days as a wedding photographer. Now firmly ensconced in sunny Suffolk the Port Lympne Hotel and Reserve held a particular high point in 2018. This was the wedding for Sarah and Bryn. Bryn is the Son of family friends whom I have know for too many years to recount. Bryn’s father is in many ways a brother, such happy family memories. The Port Lympne Hotel and Reserve is more than you would think. The clue is in the title, Reserve! Bought by John Apinall in 1973 it is the home to some of the worlds rare and endangered animal species. The mansion which can boast of Royal and celebrity guest list sits amongst 600 acres of parkland.
The Reserve offers an experience second to none. You can enjoy the African, Asian and South American Experience and much much more.
The accommodation is unique both in the mansion with its lavishly decorated rooms through the the lodges where you can literally wake up to lions, tigers and wolves! The grounds are beautiful, no matter what time of the year and as a wedding photographer the only negative is time. One really needs time to be able to take in everything Port Lympne Hotel has to offer.
Back to the wedding. It was early in the year and Spring was beginning to make an appearance. It was truly a super day, being amongst great friends, an incredible venue and a game drive! How’s that? Not many a wedding can boast of such a privileged day for all guests.
