Holkham Hall has to be one of the most elegant and beautiful wedding venues in Norfolk. Holkham Hall, an 18th century country house, found on the north Norfolk coastline is a venue for the discerning couple. This is the dream venue that Hannah and Adam married in at Christmas time.
Holkham Hall is the ancestral home to the Coke family (pronounced Cook) and family home to the Earls of Leicester. I was fortunate enough before the wedding of Hannah and Adam to meet with the Earl of Leicester at Holkham Hall for a photo-shoot. Commissioned by Country Life Magazine. I was fortunate enough to visit rooms and apartments not opened to the public, a true eye opener. Meeting the Earl and family was indeed a pleasure.
As you will see from some of the images I have selected Christmas time at Holkham is truly magical. Every detail just shines and to be wondered. For sure any wedded couple, family and guests will no doubt be in complete awe at the sight at Christmas decorations. In fact it does not have to be Christmas as I am sure everyday is Christmas at Holkham Hall.
So, we have a stunning backdrop with a Christmas wedding but we have to remember that a Winter wedding does bring in long nights and very short days. Therefore we need to be very mindful when looking at the timeline for the day. Hannah and Adam certainly had this in mind when the timings were created. In order to get the very best from a venue we need an early ceremony and at least two hours of half decent daylight. Keep in mind that even with a couple of good hours of daylight the cloud cover could well be heavy which would further reduce the available light.
As to this wedding a superb and beautiful day. We headed over to The Temple building at Holkham for couple shots. There were certainly some moody skies but hey, they added some drams to the images.
Thank you to Hannah and Adam, family and friends. A truly gorgeous day at a truly remarkable venue!
